- I'm Debbie, known to others as Mama,Mrs. Edmondson, Aunt Debbie, Marmie and to one sweet great niece, Lauren, as "Termite." Go figure! Some early childhood memories stay with us forever. Growing up, my numerous trips to Grandma Swearingen's farm House ,in Dooly County, Georgia, always included a quick peak into Hank's Belly. A curious thing would happen to me and my 5 brothers and sisters as we opened the sheep shaped cookie jar, we found only crumbs, yes crumbs of the famous chocolate chip cookies that I would only learn to bake as an adult. This recipe today is a hit to my family as there will never be a better cookie. Now a grandma myself, there are many other recipes that I wish to share from my family passed on by my mom, Annelle Swearingen Hendley, known to many who loved her as Annelle, Mrs.Hendley, Mama, Aunt Annelle, Aunt Nelle, Grandma,Cama and Framma.
