Swearingen Road

To warm your hearts and jog your memories, enjoy these photos of the old Swearingen home on Swearingen Road. If these walls could talk, many of the recipes that I plan to post would be a huge part of what they would have to say.

  1. I don't know how many times I spent a few summer days at Grandma Swearingen's. I remember gathering around the table with so many meats and vegetables, not to mention desserts. I remember Uncle Dewey blowing on the coffee cup saucer and then sipping the coffee. On a few occasions I used the water bucket and dipper sitting in the breeze way as a sermon illustration. Ridding up and down on the tractor on what is now Swearigen Road. The good ole days. ~ Mark Ledbetter (Slouch's son, you know Barbara Bowden Ledbetter, Sally Eunice's grandson)
